Online Bus booking system is designed for people who want to buy bus tickets without waiting in long queues in bus stands or in travel agencies. Online Bus booking system makes their life easy by reserving bus tickets within minutes and from anywhere in the world. This is a web application project that can be done by BTech, BE, MCA students or any computers professional. This php project helps you to understand bus ticket booking or reservation system in the travel industry.
This is a Content Management System project developed in php. Online Bus Ticket reservation system project has some unique features where customers can select their seats in the bus and reserve them. They can also cancel their travel and request for a refund of their money. They can rate and comment on the travel agencies service. The application also sends SMS alert and email notification with seat confirmation and ticket in pdf format.
This project has 3 different modules to access the features and functionalities of this application. They are User/Customer module, Travel Agent module and Administrator module.
Travel Agent Module: In the front end of this application a registration form is developed for Travel Agents. Agents can register and enter their details like number of buses, bus routes, pick up and drop places, amenities, fares, bus timings etc. Travel agents also will have their user id and password to log into the application and update their information at any point of time. All this information is stored in the database.
Administrator Module: After verification and validation admin has the rights to approve or reject a travel agents registration application. Admin adds all the bus routes and can approve refund request raised by the customers. He can modify any bus route, pick-up, drop information and bus timings. As this is a Content Management System, so admin can view modify everything on the front end.
Customer of User Module: Customers can directly book tickets into this application without registration. As soon as they select the date and place of travel, the application collects all the data of buses from the travel agencies that are listed with that bus routes. Customer’s selects the bus, seat, then enters his/her personal information like contact name and number etc. The payment will be done with online payment gateway. There are many online vendors for good payment gateways some of them are ccavenue, paypal etc. This payment gateway is integrated into this application from where customers will pay for their online bus ticket booking reservations. Once the ticket is confirmed, an immediate email and SMS alert is sent to the customers email id and verified mobile number. Customers profile is created after the ticket booking process. He can login to the system and check his previous travel history as well.
